THE EDGE OF THINKING
A new exhibition at the Forest Arts Center 10 October 2026
Fragmented dreams of imagined worlds
stem from reality and are often disturbing.
But if we can put them aside, we can find a space to fill with joy.

It's the incompleteness or the unfinished that I find fascinating. Like ancient frescoes, where bits are gone imagined or never were. Detached, restored or reimagined with frayed memories of truths and lies.

I often purposely paint over a finished artwork to make it incomplete, to create what is lost - and then the fragments that remain tell the story. Your timeline will take you there.

Abstract and diverse artworks are inspired by MA, the Japanese philosophy that emphasises the importance of empty space, not as a void but as a meaningful presence that enhances the elements around it.

As with thoughts, lines cross, and make shapes - places to dwell.
Like a pot formed from clay to create the space inside that becomes the essence. Artworks are unfinished or distressed to create the perfect imperfect.
