EDGE WORKS
'Edge Works' plays with the idea of clearing the mind, and the challenge to find and embrace the beauty of empty space.
A simple shape, like a canvas or a square, is taken to represent our mind, and acts as the container for our thoughts.
Lots of things go on in there, and on the edge of thinking.
'Edge Works' is a series of abstract and diverse artworks inspired by MA,
the Japanese philosophy that emphasises the importance of empty space, not as a void but as a meaningful presence that enhances the elements around it.
As with thoughts, lines cross, and make shapes - places to dwell.
Like a pot formed from clay to create the space inside that becomes the essence. Artworks are unfinished or distressed to create the perfect imperfect.
